Lane closure on Mishawaka Avenue By: Matt Nagy
MISHAWAKA, Ind. The City of Mishawaka announced that East Mishawaka Avenue will be closed to westbound traffic between Edgewater Drive and Indiana Avenue beginning on Wednesday.
Only eastbound traffic will be allowed to travel on this stretch of East Mishawaka Avenue as a water main connection project will be taking place in the westbound lanes.
Motorists will be able to follow a detour to Lincoln Way East using Byrkit Avenue and Church Street/Main Street.
The city expects this project to remain in place through Friday, weather permitting.
Drivers travelling east along the construction zone are encouraged to be aware of crews working and the signage directing traffic.
During his years of travel, Joseph Luten said he was on a mission to find what connects humans.
âI was looking for that human trait, that gene that just connected everyone, and honestly, everywhere I went the common denominator was coffee,â said Luten. â. Coffee was the center of social engagement.â
Eventually, Lutenâs travels took him to Ethiopia where he met his wife, Afomia, and dug even deeper roots in understanding different taste profiles of the beverage. Luten also noticed an issue of child homelessness in the east African country, so with the encouragement of his wife, he decided to take a step in finding a solution.
