The Adrian International Film Festival will return Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as it kicks off its 2021 festival season, which will consist of a mixture of in-person and online film screenings.

The Indiana Department of Transportation put out a list of federal aid projects that have been funded in coming years. In Angolaâs case, it has received word of receiving $2.6 million to construct sidewalks along North Wayne Street in 2026.
âI am pretty excited about the award announcement and finally being able to start a project that has been discussed for many years. The project will be from Oak Street to Northcrest Street. It will most likely include an 8-foot sidewalk on one side of the roadway with pedestrian crossing at signalized intersections. Specific details will be designed during the engineering phase of the project,â said Amanda Cope, Angolaâs engineer.
ANGOLA â The coronavirus pandemic hurt many Angola businesses in 2020 and slowed new development and infrastructure projects in the city, but Mayor Richard Hickman said this year has the potential to see the city rebound in a big way.
Hickman, now in his fifth term as mayor, says working toward meeting an urgent need for new housing and making Angola a more appealing place to live and work are two of the items that top his administrationâs agenda in 2021.
Hickman says Angola, like many other communities in northern Indiana, currently has more job openings than it does workers to fill those positions. Over the past several years Steuben Countyâs population has grown, but the pace of growth has been limited by the available housing stock.

ANGOLA â The following people were arrested Thursday by law enforcement officers working in Steuben County and lodged in the Steuben County Jail.
⢠Ciera Carr, 19, of the 100 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Battle Creek, Michigan, arrested on S.R. 127 at S.R. 727 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia.
⢠Taylor N. Dembski, 22, of the 9000 block of Verona Road, Battle Creek, Michigan, arrested at S.R. 127 and S.R. 727 on a felony charge of auto theft.
⢠Zachary Kelly, 23, of the 3000 block of Strickler Road, Battle Creek, Michigan, arrested at Interstate 69 and U.S. 20 on a felony charge of motor vehicle theft and a felony fugitive warrant.
