TWO motorists who “appeared to be racing” along a busy road were stopped by police. Officers from East Lothian Community Action Team (ELCAT) were on mobile patrol on Monday evening when they saw two vehicles travelling along the A199 towards Strawberry Corner, near to Wallyford. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Both vehicles were stopped and the drivers were checked out. “They were educated on their manner of driving and both vehicles were issued with a S127 (vehicle ASBO) warning.”

Cannabis was found CANNABIS worth about £14,000 has been seized by police after a vehicle was stopped on the A1. Roads policing officers were joined by colleagues from East Lothian Community Action Team (ELCAT) in stopping a vehicle travelling on the main road near Haddington on Saturday evening. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Upon stopping the vehicle and searching it, officers recovered two kilogrammes of cannabis with an estimated value of around £14,000. “A 30-year-old male was arrested and interviewed by officers before being charged with Misuse of Drugs Act offences and released to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.”
