Breaking news on manhattans east side. A pane of glass fell from a hotel hitting a person on the sidewalk. Valerie castro has more. Reporter maurice, we are here on 51st just east of lexington and the sidewalk below from where that glass fell is actually still closed right now. Its across the street. You can see where that section of glass fell from, its about 25 to 30 feet off the ground. Within the last hour, a worker was sweeping up the broken glass from the sidewalk. We know one person was hurt as they walked by and the glass fell. This happened around 3 30 this afternoon. Witnesses say the person was transported to the hospital with a cut on his face. They say it was a slash across the nose. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The Fire Department responded and called for the department of buildings to investigate exactly how that piece of glass worked its way loose.
