THE leaders of a local authority have urged people to follow their example and get jabbed twice to prevent a new spike in coronavirus infection.
Blackburn with Darwen Council leader Cllr Mohammed Khan and its chief executive Denise Park say getting everyone fully immunised it the only way out of the pandemic and its restrictions. Their plea comes after 320 new cases were recorded in the borough last weekend meaning there were 22,975 people so far who had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Monday. This was a small spike after new case numbers had begun to fall steadily after a sharp rise in May and early June.
