You can see how thin this dune really is right now. This has been eaten away by the ocean during the last high tide last night. Take a look right about a couple of hundred yards up the shore from me. This is the site of the area around the Joey Harrison surf club which was devastated by sandy and finally torn down within the last year or so. Joeys was one of the more prominent victims of what has happened along the jersey shore from sandy. We need that army corps of engineers to come in and put our dunes in. We fixed our houses and here we are right back worrying again. Reporter and so weve had over the last 24 hours or so toms river folks here in ortley ca beach bringing in hundreds of truckloads of sand, dumping it around the area of Joey Harrisons. This is the most exposed area of toms river. Trying to hold back the ocean as best they can for this next high tide were expecting in a few hours.
