A large, interactive sculpture of an upturned, oversized hand is coming to Mundelein’s Courtland Commons park.
The village board on Monday voted to hire Kentucky artist Meg White to create the stone.
Funding for the construction of a park that ll be the future site of the Mundelein Community Days festival and other activities is included in the village s newly approved annual budget.
Mayor Jeff Kaufman announced Monday at a Village Board meeting that an ALDI store will be built at the corner of North Morton Avenue and East Courtland Street on the property of the Blain s Farm & Fleet store at 150 E. Courtland.
Kaufman said Tuesday the Aldi store will be open by the end of the year, but possibly as early as summer. Aldi is one of the top businesses that Morton residents have said they want to have in Morton, so we re thrilled to get an Aldi in our town, Kaufman said . Aldi couldn t have picked a better location for their store in Morton. The store will be very visible, and accessible from all parts of Morton.
