Future Home of Eastern Shore Consolidated School Selected
Students on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore will attend a new, modern school in East Chezzetcook.
Derek Mombourquette, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, announced the location of the new school today, June 3. This decision was informed by community feedback and a technical review by government experts.
“I appreciate the comprehensive feedback from the community. People in the community are engaged and wanted their voices heard. We appreciate everyone who took time to respond to the survey or who wrote to the department with their thoughts and aspirations,” said Mr. Mombourquette. “After careful review, I have concluded that the Motts Drive site in East Chezzetcook is the right location for this new school.”
After initially backtracking on the decision, the province is moving ahead with building a new consolidated school in an East Chezzetcook, N.S., industrial park.
