The driver just fell asleep. 7:30 a.m. A false alarm was received in the 100 block of South Sandusky Avenue. 7:43 a.m. Officers made a welfare check in the 300 block of Blicke Street. 9:38 a.m. A disturbance was investigated in the 400 block of South Spring Street. 9:52 a.m. Officers picked up drug paraphernalia that was found in the 200 block of West Mansfield Street. 10:06 a.m.

Lights & Sirens | Stolen car recovered Public records A report of a possibly impaired driver was investigated on Hopley Avenue. 9:43 a.m.  A vehicle was towed from the 500 block of East Charles Street regarding 48-hour parking violations. 9:54 a.m.   A vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Marion was found on Lutz Drive. Officers stood by until the owner claimed the vehicle. 10:21 a.m.   A report of a suspicious person at the Riley Reservoir was investigated. 10:53 a.m. Officers investigated a disturbance in the 500 block of Failor Avenue. 11:25 a.m. Officers investigated a disturbance in the 100 block of West Mansfield Street. 11:59 a.m.

The incident was reported around 3:30 p.m. along East Charles Street in Hammond, with authorities saying one person was struck by a train and pronounced dead at the scene.  On Thursday (Jan. 14) morning, the Hammond Police Department identified the victim as 36-year-old Samuel Goodine of Hammond Police added that an investigation into Goodine s death remains ongoing.
