Along with Nick Chase, the other finalists for the position were District Judge Cherie Clark of Jamestown, Fargo public defender Monty Mertz and Stephanie Hayden of West Fargo, a judicial referee in the East Central Judicial District.
Upon completion of interviews, the Judicial Nominating Committee will forward at least two candidates to North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, who will decide who will fill the judicial vacancy.
