WEST CHESTERÂ â An attorney called a ârising starâ in the Chester County legal community until his clients began complaining about a pattern of taking their money and doing little, or no, work on their cases has been found guilty of multiple counts of theft.
A jury of seven men and five women hearing the trial of Joshua Janis deliberated about six hours before returning with their verdict late Wednesday night, Dec. 9, in Common Pleas Judge Patrick Carmodyâs courtroom.
The jury found Janis guilty on 27 counts of theft by deception, three counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, and four counts of theft by unlawful taking. He was acquitted on two other counts of theft by deception.
