Guwahati: Smoke emanating from a fire that first broke out at GMC’s garbage dumping ground in East Boragaon’s Belortol area along NH-27 two-and-a-half.
Belortol waste plant, built by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation, is expected to be operational from April this year. The plant will have a capacity of treating 150 tonnes of garbage in eight hours. This will help solve the waste management problem in Guwahati, which generates over 550 tonnes of waste per day.
