Early Monday morning, Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for expired registration. Upon contact with the driver and occupant, Officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and marijuana paraphernalia and two marijuana joints were found. A city summons was issued to Megan E. Stevens, 27, of Green Ridge for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a court date. Both Stevens and the driver were released from the scene.   Sunday morning, Officers responded to the Prime Time Store, 216 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to an assault that had just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and found the injured victim in the parking lot. The suspect is known to the victim. No contact has been made with the suspect at this time. Charges for Assault in the 3rd Degree will be sent to the prosecutor for review.

Monday evening, a car was stopped in the area of West 4th Street and South Grand Avenue for no license plates. A DOR check revealed the driver s operator s status was suspended. Amber L. Green, 49, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Green was booked in on a 24 hour hold on a state felony charge of Driving Without a Valid License, Driving While Suspended, and Driving Without Financial Responsibility.   Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of East Boonville for a possible theft report Monday night. Upon arrival, the victim chose not to pursue charges because the suspect had brought the item back. The suspect was driving a vehicle, and her driving status was suspended. Sedalia Police Reports For December 21, 2020 This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. On the night of December 18th, Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a registration violation. At the time of the stop, an occupant of the vehicle fled on foot and the Officer gave chase. The suspect, Aaron Williams, 34, was taken into custody a short distance later without incident. Officers retraced the steps of the chase and located a firearm that is believed to have been thrown down by Williams when he fled. K9 Charlie was deployed around the vehicle, and provided a positive presence of illegal drugs within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, in a quantity that would be indicative of illegal drug distribution. Further investigation revealed a room the subjects were known to be frequenting at Motel 6. A search warrant was obtained to search it for items related to illegal drug
