UJA-Federation of New York Honors Long Island Women

Reply Genia Taub NEW YORK CITY (May 12, 2021) UJA-Federation of New York Long Island held its virtual Spring Event on May 12, 2021, honoring Andrea Newburger of Upper Brookville and Genia Taub of Woodbury for their philanthropic accomplishments. Andrea Newburger received the Miriam Award. Ms. Newburger and her late husband Barry have supported UJA for 30 years. When Barry was diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy, she turned to UJA for help and guidance. UJA helped connect them with the Early Onset Dementia Program at the Sid Jacobson JCC, a UJA nonprofit partner. I feel it s important to share the message that not only can you be a longtime donor to UJA, you can also benefit from UJA s support, said Ms. Newburger. I think it s very important to support our community. Because if we don t support our own community, who else will? she continued.
