CDWP approves 15 projects worth Rs38.2b

The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Tuesday approved 15 development projects worth Rs38.24 billion and recommended five other projects costing Rs117.5 billion to the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (Ecnec) for further consideration.
Chaired by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, the meeting discussed projects related to transport and communications, education, energy, environment, governance, healthcare, information technology, higher education, water resources and housing.
During the meeting, four projects related to transport and communications were presented. The scheme titled “Construction of Gilgit-Shandor Road on EPC Mode” costing Rs49.9 billion was recommended to Ecnec for approval. ISLAMABAD: The Planning Commission s Central Development Working Party (CDWP) in a meeting on Monday approved two projects worth Rs11.6 billion and accorded concept clearance of two proposals.
The meeting was held under chairmanship of Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, with participation of Secretary Planning Mathar Niaz Rana, senior officials from Planning Commission and federal ministries/divisions, and representatives from provincial governments, who participated via video link.
Two projects related to health were presented in the meeting. The first project, “Establishment of 250-bed Mother and Child Hospital Sialkot, Punjab” worth Rs4,970.65 million, was approved by the CDWP.
