According to the SIU, the subject officer was one of many assigned to Earlscourt Park to police potentially violent demonstrations. While manoeuvring through the park, the officer drove his Ford Explorer SUV off a paved trail and onto the grass where he proceeded down a hill and struck a man lying on the ground, said the SIU.
