CARES Act, Sheriff’s vehicles again discussed during Commissioners
The Scioto County Commissioners had a lengthy agenda of 25 items during its Thursday morning session.
SCIOTO The Scioto County Commissioners addressed 25 items on its Thursday agenda pertaining to such discussions surrounding the Earl Thomas Conley Park pump-track, CARES Act funds, the obsolete Sheriff’s Office vehicles, and more.
With encouragement from the Scioto County Emergency Management Agency and the Sheriff’s Office, a proposal from On-Solve for a $10,500 mass notification system was introduced.
“This could really become something awesome if the public chooses to utilize it,” said Commissioner Bryan Davis, saying a system of this sort was long overdue in the county.

In addition to penning tracks for artists including Kenny Rogers, Tanya Tucker, Brenda Lee, Alan Jackson, Phil Vassar, Collin Raye and more, Black is perhaps best known as the co-writer behind a string of Anne Murray songs in the late 70s and early 80s. Among those is A Little Good News, which became Murray s seventh chart-topping hit after she released it in 1983. The song also earned a Grammy Award as well as a CMA trophy.
Born on November 23, 1949, Black grew up in Cheverly, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. He graduated from the University of Maryland at age 21 and moved to Nashville with dreams of country music stardom, but quickly discovered success as a songwriter instead when 70s hitmaker Tommy Overstreet started cutting his songs, beginning in 1971 with I Don t Know You (Anymore).

Commissioners say work is needed on courthouse 6th Street ramp

SCIOTO The Scioto County Commissioners held their first session permitting media in-person attendance this year on Thursday, reviewing and passing all 17 items on their agenda.
“We encourage the press to attend our meetings,” Commissioner Bryan Davis said. “We’re hoping in the near future to include the general public.”
Grant and contract agreements were the primary focus of the morning session, where the board discussed the walking and biking trail set to be constructed at Earl Thomas Conley Park and repairs to the courthouse handicap ramp.

The tat also includes the letters “T & F”, signifying Tim and Faith.
