The Philadelphia Eagles selected Louisiana Tech defensive tackle Milton Williams with the 73rd overall pick in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The former Eagles, Browns and Ravens evaluator gave his old team an A+ for their rookie class following the draft. Jeremiah, now the lead draft analyst for NFL Network, had seven of the Eagles’ nine draft picks on his top-150 big board.
A pair of sixth-round picks, Coastal Carolina defensive end Tarron Jackson and LSU safety/linebacker JaCoby Stevens, didn’t make the list.

Johnson joins the Eagles less than a week after the team selected Memphis running back Kenneth Gainwell in the fifth round of the NFL Draft. Johnson’s arrival gives the Eagles another running back with a versatile skill set and starting experience.
The 5-foot-11, 211-pound running back was a second-round pick in 2018. During his three seasons in Detroit, Johnson produced 1,225 rushing yards, 527 receiving yards and 11 total touchdowns. While he has a notable draft pedigree, Johnson only has a career average of 4.3 yards per carry. His production has also dropped off in each of the past two seasons following a promising rookie campaign.

The Eagles have remained tight-lipped when it comes to anointing a starting quarterback this offseason.
However, the Eagles didn’t select a QB in last week’s draft, and their signing of Joe Flacco does little in the sense of challenging presumed starter Jalen Hurts.

The Eagles plugged in nine holes on their depth chart during this past weekend’s NFL Draft, but there is still some work left to be done.
As GM Howie Roseman said Saturday after the draft, the Eagles still have positions on their roster that need improvement, and there are options to be had, even as the free-agent market dwindles after two months of activity.

According to the NFLPA, the Eagles have a projected $5.02 million in salary-cap space. While they’ll need some money to pay their rookie class, trading or releasing tight end Zach Ertz in June would open up $8.5 million in space. After failing to find a deal for Ertz in the draft, the Eagles’ plan is likely to include dropping the tight end following the June 1 mark.

The Eagles have set important dates for their upcoming offseason program.
While the Eagles’ veterans have decided to stand united with the NFLPA in its efforts to sit out of voluntary workouts, the option remains for players to attend sessions at the NovaCare Complex.

The Eagles’ nine draft picks are expected to be in attendance during the team’s annual rookie minicamp, which will begin on May 14. DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, Milton Williams and Zech McPhearson will lead a group of drafted and undrafted rookies during a three-day camp in Philadelphia.
