Road Rally participants gathered near this vintage car parked outside the Eagle Grange Hall, Route 15 and East Blind Road near Montgomery, early on the morning of Saturday, March 27th to register for a mobile family-friendly scavenger hunt. The rally was sponsored as a community service by Eagle Grange #1 which is observing its 150th anniversary in 2021. Some 50+ persons participated to form 17 teams which traveled the approximate 80-mile route through parts of Lycoming, Union and Northumberland Counties to visit historical sites, notable locations, and local businesses and complete an assigned task at each. Prizes were awarded in five categories at the conclusion of the event.
PENDLETON â The White Eagle Grange recently scored support for the Pilot Rock High School music department. Gail Wilson, the groupâs treasurer, said the group provided a $250 donation to help with the repair and purchase of instruments.
Nikki Shattuck, a six-year White Eagle Grange member and current secretary, shared about the condition of the schoolâs instruments during the Feb. 1 Grange meeting. Shattuck, who participates in the Pilot Rock High School band, said she was well aware of the need and was hoping to gain support.
âThatâs what the Grange is about, helping out the programs within our local communities and programs,â Shattuck said.
