With a population of approximately 5,000 residents, Polson is in Northwest Montana on the southern end of
Flathead Lake. The town is on the Flathead Indian Reservation, home to the
Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. It s also one of Montana s best small towns and a base camp for tasting and discovering this adventurous Northwest region.
As the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River in the lower 48, Flathead Lake is the primary backdrop for any Polson vacation. Several access points and state parks line this enormous water body that covers over 200 square miles. And Polson provides several outlets to enjoy its lakeside location.

The first time I drove through Idaho, I went from south to north and was mesmerized by the changing landscapes. There are tumbleweeds and desert sand in the south, and as you go north you cross mountainous terrain. The far north is alpine country, which is breathtaking.
Many people enjoy the winter ski season in Idaho and even camp in their RVs to do it. Summer and fall, however, are golden times for fishing, hiking, and enjoying a campfire by a lake or river in one of the 27 Idaho state parks. Iâve enjoyed camping in Idaho and look forward to many more visits.
The annual Christmas Afloat lighted boat parade is among the holiday events in the Tuscaloosa area that are taking the year off because of the pandemic.
Christmas Afloat joins Dickens Downtown, the West Alabama Christmas Parade, the Holiday Singalong, and performances of The Nutcracker in deciding to press pause, and leaving the 2020 holidays a little less bright.
The Pirates of the Warrior non-profit group brought Christmas Afloat back in 2015, following four years off, after devastation from the 2011 tornadoes took out roughly 100 boats at adjacent marinas Eagle Cove and Hideway Harbor. The first parade rolled out in 1990, and ran every year until 2011. Since its return, Christmas Afloat has usually featured two dozen or so decorated boats.
