Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (September 3, 2022) asked tea garden owners and workers to work together for further development of the industry and save it from collapse.
Nineteen days after they started a demonstration demanding daily wage of Tk 300, tea garden workers have joined work today (August 28, 2022) for daily wage of Tk 170.
The daily wage of tea workers has been fixed at Tk 170. Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Ahmad Kaikaus briefed the media after a meeting of tea garden owners with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Bangladesh Tea workers strike: Tea workers, who were on an indefinite work abstention across the country for increasing the minimum wage, have decided to join work at the current daily wage of Tk 120.
