Winter is over (mostly) which means it’s almost time for construction season in Syracuse. Mayor Ben Walsh’s administration is asking the Common Council for permission to borrow $4 million to pave 9.1 miles of roads. Another six miles of roads will be paved this summer using millions in state and federal funds secured in 2017. All told, the city should get about 15 miles of freshly paved streets by the end of summer. It’s the biggest batch of new pavement since Mayor Ben Walsh took office, thanks to some previously scheduled work on downtown streets.
