Dimapur, Aug. 14 (EMN): Naga wrestling basics demonstration and coaching for non-wrestling communities, organised by 3E Nagaland, got underway at L Khel indoor stadium, Kohima village, on Sunday. Starting from August 15, prominent Angami wrestler, Khriekethotuo, will conduct coaching till the weekend. Although the coaching is organised especially for wrestlers who belong to communities other than Angami, Chakhesang and Zeliang tribes, anyone interested to avail the coaching may contact the organizers, it stated. Basics demonstrations such as belt binding and left or right holding orientation to common as well as advanced tactics are incorporated in the programme. To popularise Naga wrestling, the whole programme is being videotaped and uploaded on 3E Nagaland YouTube channel. Kohima, Aug. 10 (EMN): Vuto Hyundai presents Naga Wrestlemania-9 King of the Ring series 2022 will be held from October 20 to 22 at Hockey Ground Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. The event is being organised by 3E Nagaland under the aegis of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA). An update from Managing Director of Elite Entertainment Enterprise (3E) Kethosituo Mepfuo informed that wrestlers will first compete in two weight categories — lightweight – 80kg and below; and heavyweight – above 80 kg. The registration outlets are Sports World Taxi Stand, Orchid Store Razhü Point and TMK Market High School Junction while the last date of registration is August 31, 2022. It was informed that wrestlers must mention their present weight in the form for ascertaining their category, and there will be a final weight measurement right before the event. Registration from June 20 onwards Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): 3E Nagaland on Thursday informed that ‘Naga Wrestle Mania-9: King of the Ring Series 2022’ will be held from October 20 to the 22nd at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. Registrations for the event will start from June 20 onwards. The tournament will feature two categories — lightweight (80 kg and below) and heavyweight (above 80 kg). The registration fee has been fixed at INR 500 with a security deposit of INR 1000 (refundable). Forms will be available at Sports World, Taxi Stand; Orchid Store, Razhü Point and TMK Market, High School Junction. Kethosietuo Mepfhuo, Managing Director of 3E Nagaland informed that wrestlers from far off places can contact the organisers for online registration but they have to be physically present for the weight measurement.
