he was receiving, he eventually felt it was sufficiently serious for him to forward it to contacts at the fbi. he did this without permission from the american that hired him. the response was shock and horror. after a few weeks the bureau asked him for information on his sources but did the fbi follow up? the fbi did follow up. he was in contact with them and they asked him to send his reports as he continued to report on those memos to the fbi, so they did receive them. so there is but there still is a big question, how thoroughly the fbi investigated the information in that is memos and that is something that i hope these various investigations, whether it s the i.g. investigation or maybe the senate intelligence committee investigation that was announced yesterday gets into because i think the public has the right to know if the fbi was really going all guns on the e-mail issue with hillary, was it doing the same right. privately with this information and these memos. m
step of going in front of cameras and while he cleared her of any potential charges and said they were not recommending prosecution, the president conference itself then evolved into comey going very aggressively after hillary clinton s actions in this e-mail issue. and so they were unhappy from that point. of course it did clear it away for them, but then of course it came back up just weeks before election day. and you remember i was sitting in the washington in our washington newsroom and a seemingly innocuous e-mail came across from a source of mine on capitol hill that essentially contained this letter from jim comey saying actually we are going to reinvestigate this evidence. it took everybody by surprise on both sides of the aisle, and the clinton campaign as well. and they launched basically an all out war against jim comey from that point forward. and it wasn t closed until a
now, i can see why that would be distracting to a campaign, however, nobody s arguing the contents weren t real. so what we got to see was embarrassing e-mails between co-workers. now, that is em embarrassing, but it isn t necessarily you know, tactic may have been evil, but it s not manipulating the information. and why is it that they are so concerned and wishing for government hem on this e-mailish knew help on this e-mail issue, and yet they felt everybody should just ignore fact that there was an unsecure server at hillary clinton s house that foreign governments, most likely, had access to? i mean, martha, there s so much there, let s start martha: well, go ahead. [laughter] first of all, we were at the convention together in philadelphia. the use of these wikileaks were dropped at specific times, on the eve of the convention, during the the debate, and as we know, wikileaks was covered second only to hillary clinton s e-mails. so so the entire campaign except
do we know sn. we don t know. the fbi said never mind to what they did almost two weeks ago. they did up end the race to a great degree. we don t know the impact and i will tell you why. tens of millions of people voted and some of them may have been people who decided to vote because they were fed up with hillary clinton s e-mails. we have no idea. we don t know how barked this issue was in terms of e-mails and by the way, the clinton campaign is not exactly going out on stage and trumpeting what we have on the kyron here. the fbi clears clinton again. hillary clinton is not going to talk about it. she doesn t want to talk about her e-mails right now. she wants to have her closing message heading into the last couple of days of the campaign. she doesn t want to remind people of the e-mail issue so she had the press secretary
