The Minnesota Lynx waived rookie guard Japreece Dean, head coach and GM Cheryl Reeve announced Thursday.
The 5-foor-7 former UCLA standout scored two points in the Lynx preseason scrimmage on May 1 at Atlanta and added, two rebounds, four assists and two steals in 15 minutes of action.
Dean, 24, played three seasons at UCLA and averaged 12.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in 90 games (64 starts). She was drafted by the Chicago Sky in the third round (30th overall) in the 2020 WNBA Draft and played last season for Dynamo Novosibirsk in Russia where she averaged 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 20.7 minutes per game.
