DCHS SCHOOL EXPANSION PROGRESSES SMOOTHLY DCHS SCHOOL EXPANSION PROGRESSES SMOOTHLY The Government of Dominica has secured a grant from the Caribbean Development Bank towards the cost of the implementation of the ninth Basic Needs Trust Fund Programme (BNTF-9). Seven projects will be implemented under BNTF 9, six of which have already seen the contracts signed. One of the projects being implemented under the project is the Dominica Community High School extension. The school will benefit from a new computer lab and an auditorium at a cost of one point two million dollars. Contracts were signed and ground was broken in October for the commencement of works.

Though our population was relatively small, and our hills and rivers beautiful but daunting, we were bolstered by our faith, and confident of our capacity to construct a proud and successful nation. And we have!!

REHABILITATION OF DELICES PRIMARY SCHOOL ON THE WAY REHABILITATION OF DELICES PRIMARY SCHOOL ON THE WAY As Government continues to work towards building a ‘Dynamic Dominica’, major developments in the La Plaine Constituency are ongoing. Parliamentary Representative for the La Plaine Constituency Honourable Kent Edwards says the renovation of the Delices Primary School forms a part of the infrastructural developments in his constituency. “This school is under repairs as it was damaged by Hurricane Maria after being affected by Tropical Strom Erika. This school was built in the 1980s, 1986 to be exact and it has withstood several natural disasters. As a result of damages done over the years, the Government of Dominica saw it fit to do some repairs. The roof was in a very bad state and the entire structure needed to be repaired,” Honourable Edwards stated.
