Swedish plastics company taps Charlotte area county for its North American HQ Catherine Muccigrosso, The Charlotte Observer Apr. 14 Swedish company Polykemi AB will make an $11.8 million investment and open its North American headquarters in Gaston County, county and state leaders said Wednesday. The plastics company will open a plastics compounds manufacturing plant at the 350-acre Gastonia Technology Park, in north Gastonia west of Charlotte, about 1 mile from Interstate 85. Polykemi will be in the 50,000-square-foot Maistro Speculative Building at 2800 Repi Court that is part of the park, said county spokesman Adam Gaub. Officials did not say when the headquarters would open.
