Looking back at South Lyon, Lyon Township murders

Judge sends case to trial in South Lyon father-son shooting deaths

There were supporters for both the deceased and the defendant, but a Novi judge did not hesitate in sending Fadi Zeineh to trial on 10 felony charges stemming from the shooting death of a South Lyon son and father. “I’ve listened very carefully to the testimony presented. I’ve reviewed the exhibits. It seems clear to me that the people have met their burden,” 52-1 District Court Judge Travis Reeds said, concluding an hours-long July 29 preliminary examination without much elaboration. “I will bind him over to the Oakland County Circuit Court on all charges.” Kevin Stamper, 43, and his son, Dylan, 17, died from gunshot wounds they sustained in their Liberty Street home shortly after 9 p.m. on Dec. 30. Dylan died that night. His father surrendered to his multiple gunshot wounds and their complications on Jan. 26.

WHMI 93 5 Local News : Bond Set For Co-Defendant Charged In Double-Homicide

March 12, 2021 By Jessica Mathews / news@whmi.com One of two men charged in connection with a double homicide in South Lyon has been bound over for trial and granted release from jail on bond. Police say 20-year-old Fadi Zeineh of Ann Arbor entered a home on East Liberty Street on December 30th and shot 17-year-old Dylan Stamper, killing him. He also shot Stamper’s 43-year-old father, Kevin, who was hospitalized but later removed from artificial life support. 27-year-old Anthony Porter (pictured) is facing three counts of armed robbery and three felony firearms charges in connection with the murders, although prosecutors have clarified that Porter remained in a vehicle and never went inside the home the night of the crime. He was initially a passenger but later drove the vehicle away.

Accused killer in South Lyon arraigned on second felony murder charge

Fadi Zeineh, a Washtenaw County teen, is facing a second felony murder charge after the recent death of a South Lyon father who had already lost his son in the same armed robbery in their home. Zeineh, 19, was arraigned Friday on the charge, a few days after Stamper, 42, succumbed to the wounds he sustained the night of Dec. 30. Zeineh allegedly broke into Stamper’s East Liberty Street home and shot and killed his son Dylan Stamper, 17. Kevin Stamper was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition at the time but died Jan. 26. Zeineh faces 10 felony charges that include murder, armed robbery and felony firearms. It appears that an assault with intent to murder charge became the second felony murder charge.

WHMI 93 5 Local News : South Lyon Father Shot Inside Home Dies From Injuries

January 27, 2021 By Jon King / jking@whmi.com A South Lyon man, who had been hospitalized since he was shot inside his home, has succumbed to his injuries. 43-year-old Kevin Stamper passed away Tuesday after being hospitalized in critical condition following the December 30th shooting that killed his 17-year-old son Dylan. South Lyon Police Chief Chris Sovik told WHMI the family made the difficult decision Monday evening to remove artificial life support, which happened this afternoon. He noted that Kevin’s body was fighting infection among other challenges. Sovik says an autopsy was performed this morning at the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine cause of death and retrieve evidence, a bullet. He says they’ll discuss the death with the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office and possibly amend charges against the two persons who are currently in custody.
