Cal coach Justin Wilcox highlighted two aspects of the 19 players the Bears signed Wednesday on the first day of the early signing period for the class of 2021 no drama and versatility.
No drama because the Bears signed all the players they were expecting to sign, which is not always the case these days, and versatilty in that a lot of these players can play multiple positions.
Offensive lineman William Reed out of Eastside Catholic in Sammamish, Washington, announced his decommittment from Cal on Thursday evening.
The 6’6”, 280-pound tackle declared his intention to commit to Princeton in a post on Twitter and thanked both the Cal football program and the coaches at Princeton when explaining his decision.
“After many conversations with my family and looking at what is most important to me, I have decided to decommit from UC Berkeley. I have nothing but love for the Cal Family,” Reed said in his statement on Twitter. “That being said, I am proud to announce I am COMMITTING TO THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS AT PRINCETON.”
