And she will have three more opportunities for a state crown as part of Community R-6’s powerful relay squads. The Trojans’ quartet of Beamer, Emma Angel, Sarah Angel and Emmi Johnson earned a trip to Jefferson City in the girls 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400, finishing fourth, fourth and second, respectively, at the Class 1 Section 1 meet hosted by South Callaway on Saturday.

Meyer Photography] By:  Editor All season it has been apparent that Paige Meyer would claim a place at sectionals in the jumps and that Dylan Hoyt was one of Class 1 District 2’s premier distance runners. But Community R-6 is deeper than that, as they proved at the district tournament Saturday held at South Callaway. Hoyt and Meyer lived up to billing. Hoyt finished fourth in the 1,600 meter run for his first sectional post. He then took third in the 3,200 with a time of 11:01.05 for another spot.

That trust was given a boost last Friday when Missouri Military Academy’s runners finished second in the 4x100 and 4x200 events at the Cunningham Invitational in Louisiana. The Colonels’ Gabriel Canonico took silver in the 300 meter hurdles, chased closely by Gage Gibson of Van-Far. Community R-6’s Victoria DiSalvo picked up a second in the girls 300 hurdles while teammate Paige Meyer tied for the second spot in high jump.
