Darragh McAllister elected as new Ennis Chamber President

DARRAGH McAllister has been elected to the role of President of business advocacy group Ennis Chamber at this week’s AGM. A well-known publican in Ennis, Darragh together with his business partner Dylan Hayes, runs Lucas’ Bar and Considine’s Bar, both located on Parnell Street.
Colin Ryan, Branch Manager, Bank of Ireland, Ennis was elected Vice President. Mr McAllister takes over as President of Ennis Chamber from Allen Flynn, Old Ground Hotel, who held the position during the unprecedented, turbulent Covid times experienced over the past 12 months.
Peggy Anne Martin Kirschten, 86, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021, after a period of declining health. She was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to the late Edith Fuller Martin.
Peggy grew up in Hopkinsville and attended Austin Peay State University briefly before moving to Louisville. She had a beloved group of friends in Louisville who shared good food and fun through weekly dinner parties, annual beach trips, and lots and lots of laughs. Peggy retired to Hillsborough in 2005 to be closer to her sons Paul and Jon. She met a group of dear friends through Curves who stopped exercising when it closed but continued to meet for lunch weekly. She was a loyal friend, having remained close with grade-school classmates. Peggy cultivated beautiful gardens everywhere she lived and loved to watch and identify the birds who visited her feeders.
