The Bolingbrook 15-year-old, whose parents said she had no underlying medical conditions, died just days after she was diagnosed with COVID-19.
They got the positive test results Sunday. She asked me why this happened to her, what did she do to deserve this? said Dykota s mother, Krystal Morgan. I told her, You didn t do anything to deserve this. I don t know why this happened to you, but you didn t do anything to deserve this.

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – A 15-year-old girl from suburban Bolingbrook, Illinois died Tuesday after testing positive for COVID-19, less than three days after she started showing symptoms, her parents told NBC Chicago, sharing their daughter’s story to warn other families not to let up on health and safety protocols for their children.
Coronavirus in Illinois: 1,741 New COVID Cases, 30 Deaths, 81K Vaccinations
Illinois health officials reported 1,741 new confirmed and probable coronavirus cases and 30 additional deaths Sunday, along with nearly 81,000 vaccine doses administered.
According to the latest figures from the Illinois Department of Public Health, the state has now recorded 1,354,967 cases of the virus since the pandemic began, along with 22,223 fatalities related to the virus.
An additional 2,354 deaths are currently classified as “probable” COVID-19 fatalities, according to IDPH data.
In the last 24 hours, 65,930 tests have been performed statewide, bringing the state’s total number of tests to 23,347,731.
State officials say that 80,843 doses of the coronavirus vaccine were administered Saturday, boosting the state’s rolling seven-day average to 73,622 doses per day. In all, 9,908,489 doses of the vaccine have been administered since it became publicly available in December.

A fifteen-year-old girl from Illinois has died from COVID-19 just two days after testing positive for the disease.
Dykota Morgan, a freshman at Bolingbrook High School, had recently celebrated her fifteenth birthday. But on Sunday, the teen told her parents that she was not feeling good. Sunday, we were out early and she called us and said she woke up feeling dizzy and weak and she was coughing on the phone, Krystal Morgan, the girl s mother, told WGN9.

The family said their daughter, who excelled in school and athletics, had no known pre-existing conditions and had been perfectly healthy until recently, although she had complained of a headache on Saturday, CBS Chicago reported.
