Wellsville presents outgoing fire chief Barney Dillie with plaque

Michael “Barney” Dillie recently completed his two-year term as chief of the Wellsville Fire Department The Wellsville Daily Reporter WELLSVILLE The Wellsville Village Board started a new tradition Monday night, honoring its outgoing fire chief with a plaque in appreciation of his service.  Michael “Barney” Dillie recently completed his two-year term as chief of the Wellsville Fire Department. Dillie previously served a pair of two-year terms as second- and first-assistant chief, with the plaque marking all six years of service to the village from 2015-2021.  Mayor Randy Shayler said such formal recognition of the outgoing chief was long overdue. Shayler credited Trustee Mike Roeske for suggesting an official acknowledgment of service to the village.

TRGHS gets to the bottom of the matter in Wellsville Thelma Rogers Genealogical and Historical Society’s annual Tale or Treasure meeting examines unique items By Kathryn Ross The Spectator WELLSVILLE  Coronavirus precautions and several inches of snow kept the treasures to a low at the Thelma Rogers Genealogical and Historical Society’s annual Tale or Treasure meeting. This annual event marks the first meeting of the year for the TRGHS and is often well attended. This year only nine people showed for the event, and not all of them brought objects of interest. However, the society also had other business to take care of, approving a new slate of officers for the year and advancing trustees.
