But over the course of the next six years, we would grow into wherejority to the point the majority of the American People became opposed to the United States being involved in the war in vietnam. We are on the steps of the state capital of wisconsin in madison. This location was significant for two reasons, i think. In the first instant, it is where the first demonstration against the war in vietnam was held in february of 1965. Four years later in 1969 and of0, this was the location the massive antiwar demonstrations against the war in vietnam with tens of thousands of people, so that is why this is significant.
