Representatives from area community colleges and Lees-McRae College virtually sign an agreement creating a pathway for students to attain Bachelor’s degrees.
Community colleges in southwestern Connecticut are offering students a guaranteed pathway to bachelor s degrees thanks to a new agreement reached with Lees-McRae College. Dr. Thomas G. Coley, Regional President at Shoreline-West Connecticut State Community College and Dr. Lee King, President of Lees-McRae College signed a memorandum of understanding on February 24 at a virtual signing event that helps students transfer and obtain a bachelor s degree.
Other signers to the agreement included Dr. William T. Brown, CEO, Gateway Community College (GCC); Dr. Dwayne Smith, CEO, Housatonic Community College (HCC); and Cheryl C. DeVonish, Interim CEO, Norwalk Community College (NCC); as well as representatives from LMC, including Kevin J. Phillips, VP for Enrollment Management; Wayne M. Leon, Executive Director of Distance L

CHESTER, PA A Delaware County man has been charged with the murder of his own son, authorities said Wednesday.
Adolphus Dwayne Smith, 48, of Chester, has been charged in connection with the murder of Rashad Sabree, 20, Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer and Chester City Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky said.
Smith is accused of shooting and killing his son on Feb. 15 and was arrested in Upper Darby by Delaware County detectives and Philadelphia Police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT – Housatonic Community College (HCC) is easing the burden of textbook costs for low-income students thanks to a grant from The Scripps Family Fund for Education and the Arts (SFFEA) for the creation of a new Textbook Lending Library.
