Jamaica Scorpions pulled off a six-run win over the Leeward Islands Hurricanes under the Duckworth Lewis method today to survive an early elimination from the regional Super50 Cup.
The victory represents the first for the Scorpions after three straight defeats. Despite the victory, the Scorpions remained bottom of the six-team table with four points and need to beat fourth-place Barbados Pride in the penultimate game of the preliminary round on Sunday to clinch the last semi-final spot.
Both Barbados Pride and fifth-place Leeward Islands Hurricanes are locked on four points with the Scorpions but are ahead courtesy of better net run rates.
