HARPERS FERRY â The price to park in Harpers Ferry is going up.
At the Harpers Ferry Town Council meeting Monday night, the council voted unanimously to increase the $1 parking area in the Camp Hill section of town to $2. It also voted to approve additional paid parking sites along the east side of Storer College Place and the north side of Fillmore Street at $2 apiece.
The move came after the council heard from Councilmember Christian Pechuekonis, who represented the townâs parking committee. Before bringing the items to vote, Pechuekonis noted how he is involved with putting together a preliminary sidewalk comprehensive plan for the town, which currently focuses on Washington Street. He also explained why the committee was lobbying for the increase in parking fees.
