The city’s first female mayor struck a tone of inclusivity and unity as she pledged to fully fund Downtown and neighborhood infrastructure, empower small business and speed the permitting process.
Audrey Ivory, judicial assistant for Duval County Judge Kimberly Sadler, ended her 35-year career at the Duval County Courthouse.
Ivory officially retired March 31, but remained in the office to help train her successor.
In 1986, she became Duval County Judge Albert Washington’s judicial assistant after working for him in private practice. After he died in 1998, Ivory worked for Duval County Judge Pauline Drake for 21 years, then for Sadler after Drake retired in 2020.
“I always tried to make the legal system easy to understand and be here for people if they need me,” Ivory said.
She plans to volunteer in the office at her church, Greater Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.
