Five persons selling medicines used in the treatment of Black Fungus in the grey market were apprehended by Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (north Zone) team here on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, the team led by inspector K Nageswar Rao laid a trap at BK Guda of SR Nagar and apprehended Vallapothula Venugopal (40), Gajula Naveen (29), both medical agents, Varre Ashok (29), a car driver, Kandukuri Prasad (36), a techie and Bommisetti Harish (28), fertilizer shop owner.
Police seized six vials of Liposomal Amphotericin B Injections (Abhope inj 50) of Bharat Serums and Vaccines Ltd, three vials of Liposomal Amphotericin B Injections (Ambilon 50) of Celon Laboratories Pvt Ltd and five mobile phones from their possession, said Officer on Special Duty (Task Force) P. Radha Kishan Rao. He added that the accused were selling each vial for ₹35,000.

Three persons, who were selling anti-Black Fungus vials in the black market, were apprehended by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force team of the North Zone on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, the North Zone team led by inspector K Nageswar Rao, laid a trap at a house near Delhi Sweet House, Punjagutta, and apprehended the accused persons who were in possession of five vials of Amphotericin B Injection.
Each vial was being sold for ₹50,000, while the MRP was ₹305, Officer on Special Duty (Task Force) P Radha Kishan Rao said.

The four accused who were involved in the sale of Amphotericin B Liposome injection in black market.
Four persons, who illegally procured and sold Amphotericin B Liposome injection at a high price, were apprehended by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (North Zone) team here on Monday. Acting on a tip-off, a team led by inspector K Nageswar Rao laid a trap near H.P Petrol Pump at Kacheguda and apprehended the accused. They were selling each vial for ₹50,000 vial, whereas the MRP was ₹7,858, without any valid documents. The drug is used as antiviral medicine for Black Fungus infected patients. “The antiviral drug is currently in high demand for the treatment of black fungal infection patients,” Officer on Special Duty (Task Force) P. Radha Kishan Rao said.
