Chillicothe Council Pays for Old Armory Roof Repair in Special Session | The 90s to Now

Dec 22, 2020 Chillicothe Council met briefly in special session Monday evening and passed all four items on first reading. Parks & Rec chair Ceil Corcoran explained that her ordinance to pay contractors for repairing the roof on the old armory building in Yoctangee Park is the result of a grant. She said they are required to pay for the work first, and then the $250,000 of city money will be reimbursed by the grant. She said she was happy to see the company get paid before Christmas, to reduce a little of the suffering this year. Finance chair Dustin Proehl saw three other ordinances passed. One transferred funds to keep the city s balance in the positive at the end of the year, another set the city credit card policy as required by the state, and the third transferred $125,000 for city income tax refunds.
