MABANK, Texas (KLTV) -The City of Mabank has approved a partnership with the City of Terrell to create a vaccine distribution center that will be in Mabank.
Terrell will be providing Mabank with vaccines that will be distributed at a drive-thru vaccination center every Tuesday at the Mabank Pavilion starting April 13. According to Mabank Emergency Management Coordinator Charlie Woodard, this was a much-needed partnership to provide the citizens of Mabank with a closer vaccination center.
The first does of COVID-19 vaccine were administered Tuesday at Kaufman Countyâs new vaccination hub at the TVCC Health Sciences Center in Terrell.
Standing outside the hub as health professionals administered the first shots, state Rep. Keith Bell, who was instrumental in getting the hub established, âOf all the things Iâll do over the next 134 days, I believe this is the most important. ⦠Weâre going to save lives.â
The new county hub in Terrell took delivery of 500 does of vaccine this week, and it will be ordering 1,000 doses in the next several weeks before upping that to 2,000 a week as people come to get their second dose.
