Communicating only via Whatsapp, the choir members individually recorded themselves using mobile phones before editing those recordings into a complete performance. The money will help the foodbank to support the increasing number of families who are struggling during the pandemic.

TRIBUTES have been paid to a much loved former Dursley school teacher, who has died aged 89. John Williams died at home with his family on December 29, just seven weeks after the death of his wife Vera. The father-of-three, grandfather to two and great grandfather to one, was a well-liked figure in Dursley who ‘would do anything for anyone’. At the news of his death, hundreds of people took to social media to pay tribute, with former students remarking how patient and kind he was. One person posted: “Such a lovely man. I remember going down the big pit with him and about 30 children - now all adults and each of them better people for having him as a teacher.”
