Umgeni Water in bid to remove treatment plants from loadshedding schedule Updated

The water utility’s management says it’s been meeting with
officials from eThekwini Municipality and Eskom.
It says at discussions on Monday, they motivated for pumping from
Inanda Dam to be excluded from rolling blackouts, so as to allow the production
of potable water to continue uninterrupted at Durban Heights Water Treatment
Plant.
This plant is the largest one operated and managed by Umgeni
Water.
Spokesperson, Shami Harichunder says the abstraction and transfer
of raw water to treatment plants is being affected by loadshedding.
