MacKenzie Scott donated $6 million to Habitat for Humanity Chicago and DuPage as part of a $436 million gift to Habitat for Humanity organizations throughout.
Meera Khare of Vernon Hills founded Math-Aid Free Tutoring as a community service to help struggling students. The 17-year-old junior at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire said it started as a way to provide meaningful community service during pandemic lockdown.

West Chicago has been selected to be a part of DuPage Habitat for Humanity s first Community Cares Week.
Community Cares Week brings together volunteers to do exterior home repair projects for residents in a selected community within Habitat s service area. The organization will be bringing together small groups of volunteers from across DuPage County to West Chicago May 25-29.
