The Europe Hotel & Resort in Killarney is celebrating 60 years in business as it reopens its door to guests today after the lockdown.
Dr Hans Liebherr, who built the Liebherr Crane Factory in Fossa, opened the hotel in 1961 because there was a shortage of accommodation in the region.
He later opened two more hotels in Kerry – the Ard na Sidhe and Dunloe Castle.
