Daytona Beach, FL – With the perfect beach weather forecast for Mother’s Day, Volusia County Beach Safety (VCBS) is expecting big crowds today. They also say midday high tides are not expected to have a major impact on beach driving and surf conditions are expected to be relatively calm. A reminder: if you plan to use Dunlawton Avenue to get beachside, there’s a road detour at the railroad crossing between Spruce Creek Road and U.S. 1. VCBS suggests that to reduce traffic backups, anyone traveling in the area is encouraged to adjust their route to avoid this temporary road closure. In anticipation of the busy weekend, and with COVID-19 an ongoing concern, beachgoers are encouraged to access the beach in a less-populated area. The man was charged with armed burglary of a conveyance; escape, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement; two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; two counts of grand theft firearm; two counts of grand theft motor vehicle; and driving while license suspended (habitual).
