James Duncan Tyler – McLeansboro

James Duncan Tyler, 91, of McLeansboro, went to be with the Lord at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. He was born February 13, 1930 in McLeansboro, the only son of James Monroe and Lurlin Gertrude (Duncan) Tyler. J.D. was a friend to all and never met a stranger. With a very kind heart he was full of life, enjoyed making people laugh, and always had a smile. J.D. was a proud Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. J.D. married Vada Faye Mitchell in 1959 and was blessed by one daughter. He married his second wife, Ruth Cullins Mitchell, in 1981 and was blessed by four stepchildren. J.D. was preceded in death by both wives. J.D. was a member of First Baptist Church in McLeansboro which his father helped build. His career started as an X-Ray Technician at Hamilton Memorial Hospital as well as Assistant Administrator and Purchasing Agent. J.D. later transferred to Pearce Hospital in Eldorado where he retired. He loved his job and taking care of people and rarel
