No one was injured, property owner Charles Stormy Mayo said.
The multi-limbed tree fell at about 2 p.m. onto a sedan parked in front of a garage on property next to Cape Colony Inn. The falling tree brought down electric wires, which were later secured by Eversource.
By 2:30 p.m., public works vehicles had arrived to remove the tree. Town officials anticipated working about 45 minutes to clear the road, according to a post by Provincetown police on Facebook.
Police closed Bradford Street from Howland to Allerton streets during the incident.
No outages were reported at 2:45 p.m. by Eversource.
A few trees along the shared property line between the Duncan Lane house and the motel have needed to be removed but no one had gotten around to it, Mayo said. He was in his basement at the time the tree came down. Both his greenhouse and the silver car, owned by Mayo, were seriously damaged, he said.
