how do we read that? well, it s now focused on not russia and collusion, but some very narrow questions about how settlements with alleged ex-lovers of the president wanted to get paid to stay silent. we re getting into, i think, accounting issues here over relatively inconsequential matters. paul: accounting issues? the plea deal says the president was a participant in what the plea deal says and what the and that is a judge has stipulated now was criminal behavior. not nothing. well, it s campaign finance violation paul: right. that the federal election commission has never said is a violation of the law, that i don t believe any jury has ever found to be a violation of the law. in fact, the same government is currently prosecuting duncan hunter for using a lot of
widen it out a little bit more, but there s plenty of time for it to close up, and we re likely to see it close up, widen out again before election day. paul: kevin mccarthy, the house majority leader who wants to be speaker, told us 6 points was his threshold for keeping the house. you keep it below 6 on the generic, all things being equal, that republicans keep the house. is that how you see it? i think that s right. i might be a little bit lower than that, lower than 6, but i think 6 is the outer limit of where the republicans can keep the house. and we, we re likely to see a number of races tighten not just only because of cohen and manafort, but also this week on the same day congressman duncan hunter became the second republican sitting member to be indicted this year. chris collins of buffalo and now duncan hunter jr. of san diego, both have been indicted. but again, this has got to be
