Kota Kinabalu: The remaining 94 people from 22 families who were housed at two relief centres (PPS) due to floods in the state were allowed to return to their homes after the situation fully recovered as at 4 pm.
The State Disaster Management Committee, in a statement, said that the last two PPS, namely, the Mohd Dun Banir hall in Beaufort and Kampung Song-Song hall in Kota Belud were closed this afternoon.
Earlier today, 52 people from 14 families were housed at PPS Mohd Dun Banir hall while another 42 people from eight families were accommodated at PPS Kampung Song-Song hall.

Authorities handling the process of sending off villagers from the last remaining shelter at Dewan DSP Mohd Dun Banir in Beaufort back to their homes.
KOTA KINABALU: The last flood shelter in Sabah at the Beaufort district was deactivated at 2.15pm Saturday (Jan 23), as the remaining evacuees were allowed to return home.
The 52 flood victims housed at Dewan DSP Mohd Dun Banir relief centre were allowed to go back as the situation is safe and has returned to normal at their villages, according to the state disaster management committee secretariat.
Earlier, the sole remaining shelter in Kota Belud - Dewan Kg Song-Song - was also closed with 42 villagers returning to their own houses.

Pitas recorded the highest number of flood victims with a total of 47, followed by Paitan with 42 and Beaufort 31.
As of 4pm on Saturday, statistics provided by the State Civil Defence Force showed that 51 families comprising 183 flood victims remained sheltered in five flood relief centres in the three districts.
The centres in Pitas are Dewan Kg Kusilad and SK Pekan II, Beaufort (Dewan DSP Mohd Dun Banir) and Paitan (Dewan Kubambangan and Dewan Binsulung).
